Stecyn Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 1976 when the owner, Evelyn Geren, received a commemorative plate at the time of her oldest daughter's birth. The company is named for her two oldest children Steven and Cynthia. Stecyn initially produced and sold only the traditional style birth plate. Included in this 10.5" plate of fine china is a beautiful nursery scene containing a calendar with the birth date and the day of week, and a clock displaying the time of birth.
Initially, in the early years- the 70's and 80's, the company focused on producing plates for friends and relatives. Evelyn could not decide on a method to properly market the plates and get the word out to the public that this great product existed. However, with the technology and abundance of computers her dilemma was solved. Once the internet became so readily available she knew that promoting the company had to be accomplished through a website.
In June of 2002 Evelyn's oldest daughter, Cyndi, decided to work for Stecyn. She began by launching the website. Since that time Cyndi has worked to develop an entirely new line of plates that celebrate many of life's special occasions. Stecyn now produces several birth plates in addition to personalized commemorative plates for holidays, weddings, birthdays, and many of life's other milestones. Now, we also have personalized Christmas ornaments and picture frames!
